ABOUT TALON

Over a decade of trust, carried into every project we touch.

IMG_5040.jpeg

Talon Resources and Community Development Inc. is a First Nations-owned and led company supporting resource, exploration, mining, energy and infrastructure proponents across Canada.

Founded in 2016 by Robert Houle, Talon is built on over 30 years of experience working directly with First Nations communities, leadership, governments and industry. Those relationships have shaped Talon's reputation as a respected bridge between proponents and communities.

Guided by the United Nations Declaration on the Rights of Indigenous Peoples (UNDRIP) and Free, Prior and Informed Consent (FPIC), our approach reduces risk, strengthens partnerships, and positions projects for long-term success.

HOW WE WORK

You focus on building the project. Talon focuses on building the relationships that help make the project successful.

When you bring Talon in, you're not hiring us to simply arrange meetings or check engagement boxes. You're bringing in a First Nations-owned team that understands both the resource industry and the communities your project will work alongside. We become an extension of your team.

Our role is to help remove uncertainty before it becomes risk. We help you ask the right questions, understand community priorities, identify potential concerns early, and build alignment before important project decisions are on the table.

01

Before the first meeting

We help you understand the communities involved, identify key priorities, and develop an engagement strategy that fits your project — not just today, but as it evolves.

02

As conversations begin

We become an extension of your team, representing your company through meaningful First Nations engagement. By building trust, understanding community priorities, and fostering respectful communication, we help create the relationships that lead to successful agreements and long-term project success.

03

Throughout the project

We maintain relationships through consistent communication, follow-through, and ongoing support — not just during one meeting or one phase of the project.

THE TALON DIFFERENCE

Talon helps resource companies build trusted relationships with First Nations communities so projects can move forward with greater confidence and certainty.

Everything we do — early engagement, relationship-building, strategic advice, community meetings, agreements, environmental support, and project coordination — is how we deliver on that promise.

WHO WE WORK WITH

Trusted by explorers, developers and producers across Canada.

“Robert Houle and Talon Resources have been with us since the beginning of our relationships with the local First Nations near the Larder Project. They were instrumental in providing the indigenous awareness education for our exploration team, making introductions to the local indigenous communities and facilitating our early exploration agreements with them. We continue to work with Talon Resources building our relations and maintaining regular communications with the  different First Nations communities near our project"
